Key takeaways

  • WriteHuman leads the October 2026 HumanizerBench cycle at 74.89 out of 100, its fourth straight cycle at #1, with StealthGPT second at 74.5.
  • The October cycle scored 14 tools on 30 writing samples and 420 tests against six commercial AI detectors, with Pangram added to the panel.
  • Only four tools finished without penalty points (WriteHuman, AIHumanize.io, HIX Bypass and SupWriter), while ten lost points for meaning drift or length inflation.
  • Clever AI Humanizer debuted fourth as the only newcomer, Humbot returned in thirteenth, and SupWriter fell from fifth to eleventh.
  • October scores average six detector verdicts instead of taking the median, so they are not comparable with earlier cycles.

The race at the top was tight in October. WriteHuman finished first in the October 2026 cycle of HumanizerBench, the public monthly benchmark WriteHuman publishes, at 74.89 out of 100. That is its fourth straight cycle at #1. StealthGPT, ninth a month earlier, jumped to second at 74.5. All fourteen tools sit inside a 13.6-point band, and ten of them lost points for rewrites that drifted in meaning or ballooned in length.

Score is half of picking the best AI humanizer. Metering is the other half, so each profile below adds October 2026 pricing. For the story of who moved and why, see our October 2026 AI humanizer rankings.

Prices are each vendor's cheapest paid plan on monthly billing as of October 2026, or Free where the humanizer itself costs nothing. Several pricing pages open on annual billing, which can make a plan look half as expensive, so check the vendor's page before buying.

How are these tools ranked?

Every score comes from HumanizerBench, a public monthly benchmark published by WriteHuman. Our team built it and runs it, so read it as you would any vendor-published benchmark. The methodology and per-test results are public at humanizerbench.com.

The October cycle ran 30 writing samples, generated by GPT-6 Sol, Gemini 3.8 Flash and Claude Sonnet 5.5, through all 14 tools for 420 tests. Each rewrite was checked by six commercial AI detectors, with Pangram joining the panel this cycle. The composite weights detector results at 42%, meaning preservation at 32%, readability at 16% and consistency at 10%, then subtracts penalty points for meaning drift and for output more than 40% longer than the input.

October's detector score averages all six verdicts instead of taking the median, so these composites are not comparable with earlier cycles, though rank movement still tells you something. No benchmark can promise what a detector will say about your next document, either.

The 14 best AI humanizers of 2026, profiled

1. WriteHuman (74.89)

WriteHuman ranked first of 14, its fourth straight cycle at #1, and finished with zero penalty points, the highest ranked of only four clean tools. It posted the top score of any tool on GPTZero (99.5%), Winston AI (100%) and Originality.ai (100%), tested on Basic, its entry-level paid plan. The free plan covers three humanizations a month at 250 words each, and you can try it on the homepage without an account. Paid plans cost $20 (Basic), $29 (Pro) and $59 (Ultra) a month and are counted in requests rather than words, with 80, 200 or unlimited requests a month and no daily cap. There is also a Chrome extension, an API, a free AI detector and an AI image detector.

2. StealthGPT (74.5)

StealthGPT climbed from ninth in September to second, with 3 penalty points for meaning drift. It was tested on its old Essential tier, which it no longer sells. As of October 2026 the lineup is Pro at $29.99 a month for 50,000 words (1,000 per request), Max at $49.99 for 200,000 words, and Enterprise. Every plan bundles a detector, an iOS app, a Chrome extension and MCP access. There is no free humanizer plan, only a $1 three-day trial. More in our StealthGPT review.

3. Undetectable AI (71.18)

Third with 5 penalty points, tested on its 20,000-word tier ($19 a month), which is also the cheapest plan. Tiers rise to $64 a month for 80,000 words with a slider beyond that, and yearly billing halves every tier. Every plan lists unlimited AI detection, and the free trial is a small 250 words. See our Undetectable AI review.

4. Clever AI Humanizer (69.02)

New to the benchmark this cycle, Clever AI Humanizer debuted fourth with 4 penalty points for meaning drift. It was benchmarked on its free version, since as of October 2026 its site lists no paid plans. Each request is capped at 3,000 words, there is no fixed monthly allowance, and processing depends on service availability. No signup is needed. Made by CleverFiles Inc, it moved from aihumanizer.net to cleverhumanizer.ai and works in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

5. Humanize AI Pro (68.87)

Fifth with a single penalty point, tested on Lite. The site brands itself Humanize AI at humanizeai.pro, and near-identical names crowd this niche, so check the domain before paying. Lite is $9.99 a month for 10,000 humanizer words plus a paraphraser allowance, Standard is $19.99 for 25,000, and Unlimited is $59.99. A Custom style learns your voice from one to three writing samples, and a rewrite-level control runs from Quality to Max. See our Humanize AI Pro review.

6. AIHumanize.io (68.24)

Sixth and one of the four clean finishers. Basic, the tested plan, costs $15 a month ($6 billed annually) for 20,000 words, 1,000 words per request and 30 built-in AI detections a day. Every paid plan can lock keywords and citations so product names and quotes survive the rewrite, and it can return several versions in one click. Our AIHumanize.io review goes deeper.

7. Super Humanizer (67.58)

Super Humanizer has one of the easiest trials here, a free tool that takes up to 1,200 words per run with no account. It placed seventh with 1 penalty point, tested on Basic. Paid plans start at $12 a month for 15,000 words and 1,500 words per input, rising to $19 and $39, with 60% off on annual billing. It has two modes, Super Lite and Super Ultra, plus a built-in detector and an API. More in our Super Humanizer review.

8. StealthWriter (65.98)

StealthWriter fell from second in September to eighth, with 3 penalty points, tested on Starter. It meters by the day. The free plan allows 10 humanizations a day at 1,000 words each on the Ghost 5.2 Mini model, and Starter costs $20 a month for 50 a day at up to 5,000 words, with the Pro and Legacy models unlocked. Plus and Pro sit in between at $50 and $100 a month, and the Business and Scale tiers ($200 and $400) allow 800 and 2,000 humanizations a day. Read our StealthWriter review.

9. HIX Bypass (65.14)

HIX Bypass now runs on its own standalone site and no longer appears on HIX.AI's pricing page. It placed ninth with zero penalties, tested on Standard. Standard costs $14.99 a month for 5,000 words shared between the humanizer and its detector, with a 3,000-word cap per request. Premium ($29.99) lifts that to 50,000 words, and Unlimited ($59.99) drops both caps. Our HIX AI review covers the background.

10. Walter Writes (63.53)

Walter Writes opens its pricing page on annual billing, so the $8 you see first is $12 monthly, for 30,000 words at 750 words per request. It placed tenth with 9 penalty points, tested on Starter. Every paid plan includes a detector, more than 80 languages and MCP server access, and there is a Chrome extension, a mobile app and an API. The free tier is a one-time 300-word trial. Details in our Walter Writes AI review.

11. SupWriter (62.75)

SupWriter fell from fifth in September to eleventh but finished with zero penalties, one of the four clean finishers. Basic costs $9.99 a month for 5,000 words at 500 words per request, and new accounts get 300 free words. Pro and Ultra add a Writing DNA voice-matching feature, though their prices were on a time-limited sale in early October. It bundles a detector, a paraphraser and a grammar checker, plus a Chrome extension, an iPhone app and MCP access on paid plans.

12. Phrasly (61.79)

Twelfth, with the heaviest penalty of the cycle at 11 points, 9 of them for meaning drift. The Unlimited plan costs $20 a month ($10.99 billed annually) for unlimited humanizations at up to 5,000 words per process. Its $2 three-day trial renews at $39.99 a month, double the Unlimited price, so read the terms first. A new Ultra model with five rewrite modes launched on September 15, 2026. Our Phrasly AI review covers the fine print.

13. Humbot (61.74)

Back on the roster this cycle, Humbot placed thirteenth. Nineteen of its 30 rewrites came back more than 40% longer than the input, which maxed out the 10-point length inflation penalty. Basic, the tested plan, costs $11.99 a month for 3,000 basic and 1,000 advanced words, but English humanizing uses three basic words per output word, so that works out to roughly 1,000 humanized words a month. More in our Humbot review.

14. Grammarly (61.29)

Last of 14, with 3 penalty points, tested on Pro. Grammarly pitches its humanizer as a polish feature rather than a specialist rewriter, and the humanizer itself is free. It works in six languages, and a free account adds a custom voice learned from a sample of 200 words or more. Pro costs $30 a month ($12 billed annually) and unlocks the full humanizer plus AI-text and plagiarism detection. If you already pay for Grammarly, it is a fine light edit. See our Grammarly AI humanizer review.

Who is not on the roster this month?

Penlify and StealthBypass were on the September roster but not October's, so neither carries an October score. Clever AI Humanizer is the only newcomer, and Humbot returned after sitting out September. Tools outside the monthly roster still get standalone write-ups on this blog, like our Rewritify review.

How to pick the right AI humanizer

Start with the metering model, because it decides your real cost. Monthly word allowances (Undetectable AI, StealthGPT, HIX Bypass) suit steady output, but check the per-request cap too, since a 500-word or 1,000-word cap means splitting longer documents. WriteHuman counts requests per month instead, which suits people who run many drafts of ordinary length. Daily caps (StealthWriter) reward frequent short jobs and punish one big batch. Credit multipliers (Humbot) can shrink an allowance to a third of its headline figure.

Then test with your own drafts. Nearly every tool here has a free tier or trial, so run the same 200-word sample through your top two or three picks. Put the before and after through the free AI detector to see how the classification shifts, then read the rewrite aloud. This cycle's penalties are a useful warning. A rewrite that drifts from what you meant, or pads your text by more than 40%, costs more editing time than it saves, however it scores on a detector.
